Network World: Would killing Bitcoin end ransomware?

Network World posted a feature article on ransomware and Bitcoin and reached out to Citrix as an authority on this security hot topic. The topic of this feature is whether or not getting rid of Bitcoin would stop ransomware. Expert commentary from Citrix security technical marketing manager, Florin Lazurca, is included. Lazurca says that getting rid of Bitcoin from the outside would require getting rid of the Internet. Lazurca notes that, "the horse is out of the barn on Bitcoin and ransomware, as it is just one of many semi-anonymous payment channels. While it would slow down the scale of attacks, removing automated and unattended transactions, any transfer-of-value method lacking 'know your customer' standards will fill the void."
